Alford Railway Station

Alford Station, looking towards Whitehouse, from a colour slide taken by the late Norris Forrest in the 1960s. This photograph, and number 869, are from the GNSRA collection and kindly supplied by Mike Cooper of the GNSRA. Both pictures show Alford in the 60's after the loss of passenger services, about a decade earlier, and before the final train on 31.12.65.
The station buildings, shown here, are the original structures as is the turntable in the foreground, the well of which is still in situ.
