Dunnydeer Hill and Castle, Insch.

Dunnydeer Castle is a Medieval castle (1260) built on a much earlier vitrified fort dating to Ist millenium BC.
It gets a passing mention in the Ballad of Harlaw:
"As I cam in by Dunidier
An' down by Nethera,
There were fifty thousand Hielanmen
A marching to Harlaw"
(Battle of Harlaw 24 July 1411)
