Pitoothies Belt from the Forbes Estate

The lower portion of Pitoothies Belt has preserved Medieval ridge and furrow (Broad Rig) plough marks which are very apparent when walking in the belt. The name Pitoothies comes from Pictish Pit or Pitt meaning "a portion of" or "the place of" and a Gaelic word meaning "hawthorn".
