New Deer Investigations

Carol McIntyre says:
"I am trying to identify two houses that feature in my grandmothers photo album. I do not know who lived in these houses but I would like to find out to try and fit the jigsaw of my family together. My family farmed at the following farms. Crowniehillock, Barrack, Auchnagatt - William Wood (1825 - 1884) and Isabella Ferguson South Auchmachar, Old Deer - Sarah Ferguson and William Adie(1821 - 1886) Lenabo Road Farm, Longside - Ann Ferguson and James Adie Back Moss of Barrack, Auchnagatt - William Ferguson and Helen Davidson. Some of their descendants must have lived in these houses. I wonder if they are farm houses? My g-grandmother left the farm at Crowniehillock after her husband (William Wood) died in 1884 and moved to Aberdeen but right up until the 1960's my parents were visiting Auchnagatt. I wonder where and who?"
